Bostik is about much more than sticking things together. For over a century, they have developed smart solutions that touch and improve people’s daily lives.

After starting life in 1889 as the Boston Blacking Company in Massachusetts USA, the company established business in Australia in 1915. Several products were launched under the Bostik brand as early as the 1940’s, with the business taking on the Bostik company name in the 1960’s.

Arkema, a specialty materials player offering innovative and sustainable solutions, acquired Bostik in 2015, providing access to unique research and development capabilities to help build a world that is safer, more sustainable, and adaptive.

As of 2023, Bostik Australia is focused on the manufacture and supply of quality adhesives across 3 business units; Construction/Trade, Consumer, and Industrial (Durable Goods & Advanced Packaging). Over 60% of products are made in Australia, including the Ultraset^® range of flooring adhesives which has been proudly made in Melbourne for over 30 years.

Today, Bostik's commitment to innovation is as strong as ever, through a global R&D network comprising three international Smart Technology Centres and 11 Regional Centres. They are one of the largest adhesive and sealant companies in the world, employing some 6,000 people in 50 countries across five continents.
